holiday house "serra da lousÃ"
Our authentic holiday house is located in the historical centre of Lousã and has a view on the Serra da Lousã. This historical centre has besides his old buildings also a lot of restaurants and shopping opportunities. Our house is also located at one of the many walkingtrails in the Serra da Lousã, the "Caminhos do Xisto da Lousã". This trail is leading through the forest at the castle of Lousã, the natural swimmingpool and the hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Piedade.
Our holiday house...
...has two apartments. The apartments can be merged into one holiday house for 6 people. On the opposite of the house is a park, with benches where you can enjoy the outdoor living. Here you can see in the morning the sun rising behind the mountains and in the evening enjoy the sunset at the horizon in the west.
The apartment "Lousã" is situated on the ground floor. It is wheelchair friendly and is prepared for 2 people.
The apartment "Trevim" is on the first floor. It is child friendly and prepared for 4 people.
Both apartmens have their own entrance. The beds are made when you arrive. Towels are provided as well as WIFI.

Lousã has a very old village centre with beautiful historic buildings like the Town Hall, the church, the 16th century chapel of mercy and a lot of old houses. Besides the historic buildings, it has a lot of cozy terraces and restaurants. Near the castle is a natural swimmingpool and the hermitages of Our Lady of Mercy, what is worth visiting.
The "Serra da Lousã " offers a lot of opportunities for walking or mountain biking. The highest peak, “Alta do Trevim”, has a altitude of 1200 meter. When the weather is clear, you can see from its peak the Atlantic Ocean. here you can go down with a paraglide.
There are a lot of old mountain villages made of slate. It shows the hard and lonely life in the mountains. In the “Serra da Lousã” you have the change to spot wild animals like deer, wild boars and foxes.
The University City Coimbra is about 27 kilometres away from Lousa and you can reach it also by bus. You can reach the white beaches of the Silver Coast in approximately 1 hour by car. The Torre, in the National Park "Serra da Estrela" is the highest mountain of the mainland of Portugal and is about 96 kilometres.
